In June 1923 FW Clarke and A Hagblom patented a variable condenser design and set up a factory in Carlton. [1][2] The radio industry was expanding quickly and in 1926 a larger premises and bigger plant became necessary to cope with the development of this new industry so they merged with Radio & Electrical Goods Manufacturers to create The Radio Corporation of Australia. [3] Radio Corporation of Australia Pty. Ltd. was registered in May 1926 with First Directors Frederick Clark, Axel Hagblom, Arnold Johnson and John Derham.[4]
