Von 1917 bis 1945 Polte Armaturen- und Maschinenfabrik OHG übernommen von der Metallgießerei und Armaturenfabrik Jürgens & Co in Magdeburg. 1945 wurde die Firma unter sowj. Besatzung einem Sequester unterstellt, weil zuvor Rüstungsproduktion. Ab dann Produktion von Geschirr, Plattenspielern, Rollenketten, Filmbüchsen und Fensterzubehör. Nach 1945 enteignet und in VEB umgewandelt. Ab 1946 unter Firmierung Magdeburger Armaturen- und Metallwarenfabrik AG (MAM). von 1948 bis 1952 Nennt sich die Fabrik VEB Sanar Großarmaturenbau, stellt u.a. auch Plattenspieler her. Ab 1952 in VEB Schwerarmaturenwerk Erich Weinert Magdeburg benannt.
