History:

A & R Electronic Equipment Co. Ltd. was registered in March 1947 by Electrical Engineers D. K. Anderson and A. Roudi.[1] They also registered A and R Transformers Pty. Ltd. at the same time.

In 1949 they moved into the old Kingsley Radio premises in St. Kilda Road. In 1961 they moved to Lexton Rd, Box Hill. They became part of the Soanar Electronics Group around 1970 and traded as A & R Soanar. In 1973 they set up a manufacturing plant in Hong Kong as Arlec International Ltd. manufacturing the Arlec range of consumer power products.
