In 1933 Charles Slade was changing his company from the Croydon Radio School to Slade’s Radio to manufacture radios and possibly thought a partnership with Frederick Paton would add test equipment manufacturing to his company. They formed a partnership and manufactured Slade-Paton test equipment from 1934 till 1935, selling from Slade’s premises in Lang Street, Croyden.[1] The partnership was dissolved in May 1935 and they became competitors. Slade manufacturing the Calstan brand of test equipment and Paton trading as Paton Electrical Instrument Co. manufacturing Palec branded test equipment.[2] [1] The Bulletin Sep 26, 1934, Page 32. |
