The slowdown in business caused by the advent of radio in the mid to late twenties forced music stores to add Radio Departments to their stores.

Vogue radios were advertised in March 1929 by Allan’s in Melbourne, May in Adelaide and in October 1929 by Nicholson's in Perth. Investigation is ongoing but it assumed these were made by the Targan Company before it was registered in June 1930.

From 1930 they were made by the Targan Electric Co. from 1930.

Allan’s Melbourne;
Allan’s traded as a music warehouse in the Melbourne CBD since the 1850s when its founders, Joseph Wilkie and George Allan set up a music warehouse in Collins Street.

In 1932 a consortium of Allan and Co. (Allen's Ltd), J.C. Williamson & David Syme (The Age) formed a company called the "Vogue Broadcasting Company" and were granted a broadcasting licence to operate Melbourne radio station 3AW. Official broadcasts from 3AW commenced on the 22/02/1932.

Allan’s Adelaide;
Allan’s Music Store opened in Adelaide at 53 Rundle Street, around 1911.
Vogue radios were advised until 1939.

Nicholson’s Ltd., Perth;
Nicholson's Ltd, trading as an Electrical and Music warehouse opened in Perth in 1894. Radio Station 6PR was set above its showroom in Barrack Street in October 1931. They advertised Vogue radios from 1929 until late 1935.
