BOFA is an acronym for Bang & Olufsen Forstærker Anlæg (ampifier installations). The company existed already in 1931.

In ca. 1966 Bofa and Philips founded A/S Philips-Bofa.

Between 1967 and 1970 (latest) the Danish company Movic Denmark was bought by B&O and incorporated into Philips-Bofa.

Shares held by B&O were sold to Philips in ca. 1971, which made Bofa a 100% Philips company.

This manufacturer was suggested by Mark Hippenstiel.
