The first Korean investment in Europe was made by Samsung in 1982. The plant at Alcoitão near Lisbon is a joint venture with EMACET and MRI, with Samsung having a majority stake.[1] It produces audio equipment and colour televisions, tts main export markets being Africa and the Middle East.
