History:

As a young man, Sande had in 1931 started a photo shop, later also a radio shop in his hometown Sandane. Here he also built a radio. He shut down operations at Sandane when the war broke out because he did not want to help the Germans with technical equipment and repairs.

In 1946, Olav Sande moved to Florø, where he built a large business building and started the radio factory Vest Radio, Vest Foto, petrol station, and was a car dealer with the Ford agency for Sogn og Fjordane. The radio factory made several hundred radios under the trademark "Statt", but was shut down after a fire in 1952.
