History:

Arthur Walter (Wally) Barrs left Tasma in 1945 and formed A.W. Barrs Car Radio installing car radios and two-way radios. [1]

These early car radios were large, and difficult to fit to the vehicle, so he designed the 5 valve Walbar Cub as a small radio with the vibrator power supply in a separate speaker box.

He also patented and designed the Ezidaptor antenna lead in with special connectors.[2]

They manufactured a range of car radio broadcast and amateur VHF antennas and RF connectors and adaptors.

In 1975 the company became the Walbar Division of Philips Car Radio (Rhodes, NSW)
