G.B.C. Electronic Industries Ltd. Listed in "Electronic Engineering" volume 34, year 1962, for a pocket recorder. Found into an Italian magazine "Quattroruote", Mazzocchi editor, December 1982, number 326: GBC was formed by H.V. Bolsom and L.M. Bolsom in 1958. The Bolsoms were former directors of the Champion Electric group and resigned when Thorn took over the busniess. The company was created to import and distribute tape recorders and electronic equipement, first products to be the Trix Phonotrix from Germany and the GBC Phonetic from Italy, with some products being marketed under a different name (e.g. Clarion). The form of relation with GBC in Milan, except for the name, is currently unclear. |
