History:

The General Wireless Corp. was organized in mid-1922 as a subsidiary of the General Phonograph Corporation, Inc. to "manufacture and import the wireless products of the C. Lorenz AG, Berlin, Germany."[1]

The plant in Elyria (former Dean Electric Co.) was to manufacture the radio products in sufficient quantities, having produced a large quantity of receiving sets for the American government previously.[1]
