Martian Manufacturing Co. Inc.; Newark, New Jersey was formed in March 1924 by Charles Louis Marti, a Swiss citizen. Together with Martian Electric Laboratories (from September 1926) both companies became Marti Electric Radio Company Inc. in October 1926. After receivership reorganized by Sept.1929 to Marti Radio Corporation.
The Name Martian for a model was already used before 1924 (Feb.1923). On the other hand there are also Marti sets made by Martian, and later Marti Radios made by Marti...
It seems that in fact there was only one factory and a juggling with several companies on the paper... |
