Belling & Lee is a British company that has been manufacturing electronic connectors and components since 1923. The company has a long history in the radio industry, dating back to the early days of broadcasting.

Today, Belling & Lee is a leading manufacturer of electronic connectors and components for a wide range of applications.

The company's products are used in a variety of industries, including radio, television, telecommunications, computers, and automotive.

Founded: 1923
Production: 1923 -
History:

The company was registered as a private company on December 20th, 1923, to acquire and turn to account any patent or invention relating to wireless telegraphy or telephony, etc.
The joint managing directors were: Charles Reginald Belling (1884-1965), 10, Glebe Avenue, Enfield, Middlesex, electrical engineer; Edgar Morton Lee, 27, Ridgeway, Enfield, Middlesex, radio engineer. [1]

In the 1920s, they developed a range of radio connectors that were quickly adopted by the BBC and other broadcasters. The company's connectors were known for their high quality and reliability, and they played an important role in the development of early radio broadcasting.

By the 1930s, they had begun manufacturing radio components, such as capacitors, resistors, and coils. The company's components were used in a wide range of radio products, from domestic radios to professional broadcasting equipment.

During World War II, Belling & Lee supplied the British military with a wide range of radio connectors and components. The company's products were used in a variety of military applications, including radar, communications, and navigation.

After the war, the company continued to develop new products for the radio industry. The company was one of the first companies to manufacture coaxial connectors, which are now widely used in radio and television applications.

In the 1950s and 1960s, it expanded its product range to include connectors and components for other electronic applications, such as television, telecommunications, and computers. However, the company has always maintained a strong presence in the radio industry.

They were acquired by the Cambridge Electronic Industries Group in 1974. The acquisition was part of the CEI Group's strategy to expand its presence in the electronics industry. Belling & Lee was a well-established and respected company with a strong reputation for quality and innovation in the electronic connector and components market.

The acquisition of Belling & Lee was a major coup for the CEI Group. It gave the company access to Belling & Lee's expertise in electronic connectors and components, as well as its strong customer base. The acquisition also helped the CEI Group to expand its product range and to enter new markets.

They continued to operate as a separate entity within the CEI Group after the acquisition. The company retained its own brand identity and its own management team. Belling & Lee was able to benefit from the resources and support of the CEI Group, while still maintaining its own independence.

Belling Lee Ltd became a part of the Roxboro Group in 1990 when Cambridge Electronic Industries sold its electronics division to a management buy-out.

In 1990, the management team at Cambridge Electronic Industries (CEI) decided to buy out the company's electronics division. The management buy-out was intended to give the company more control over its own destiny and to allow it to focus on its core businesses.

The management team at Belling Lee Ltd was one of the groups that participated in the management buy-out. As a result of the buy-out, Belling Lee Ltd became a part of the Roxboro Group.

The Roxboro Group is a private equity firm that specialises in investing in manufacturing businesses. The group has a strong track record of success in helping businesses to grow and develop.

Since becoming a part of the Roxboro Group, Belling Lee Ltd has continued to grow and develop.

The company has expanded its product range and has entered new markets. Belling Lee Ltd is now a leading manufacturer of electronic connectors and components for a wide range of applications, including radio and television broadcasting, telecommunications, and computers.
