Summary:

Ultimate-Ekco (N.Z.) Co. Ltd., Quay Street, Auckland.
Manufacturer of radios, radiograms and TV sets.

Founded: 1955
Closed: 1967
Production: 1955 - 1967
History:
"Ultimate-Ekco (N.Z.) Ltd." was formed in 1955 when "Radio (1936) Ltd." began an association with the British firm of "E.K. Cole Ltd.". From then on selected Ekco models were manufactured as well as existing "Ultimate" branded radios. The takeover of "E.K. Cole Ltd." by "Pye Ltd." lead to "Ultimate-Ekco" coming under the control of "N.Z. Pye" and the factory was closed in 1967. The "Ultimate" brand name was used for another 15 years on "N.Z. Pye" manufactured sets.

This manufacturer was suggested by Vitor Oliveira.
