This is what a guest has sent us:

In fact Gould, an American company supplying electronics to the US armements industry, bought out Advance Electronics in order to have a European base for its electronic guidance systems. I was a wireman working for the small Service dept that repaired (and built the prototype) oscilloscopes and other test equipment sold under the Advance label.

Gould bought out the firm in 1975 and many of the engineers and technicians working for Advance before the buy out quit the firm because of the arms connection. It has to be said that Gould had helped the US government during the Vietnam war and many if not all those who worked for Advance were staunchly against the war in South East Asia.

I myself worked for the company from 1973, (just after Ted Heaths catastrophic 3 day week) until 1975 when I left to go to a competitor.

Some of those with whom I worked at Advance are Colin Hunt, Clive, Alan, Mac and our boss Trevor. Excuses to those who I may have forgotten.
