The Standard Radio & Telefon Company has been founded as a subsidiary of Standard Telephone & Cables Ltd., London, which itself was a subsidiary of I.T.T. in 1938 in Bromma, near Stockholm, Sweden.
S.R.T. has been acquired by I.T.T. in the 1940s , in 1990 is has been sold to Alcatel. The radio business formed a independant company under the name Standard Radio Systems AB which itself has been taken over by Raytheon Marine.

The company produced equipment for maritime mobile communications, later it became the main supplier of Swedish Armed Forces communications equipment, supplied shipboard and coastal radio equipment.
