Founded: 1925
History:
"Radio Retailing" magazine of December 1925 states that "The Perryman Electric Company,33 West Sixtieth Street, New York City, has been formed to manufacture a full line od radio receiving vacuum tubes. George H Perryman, formerly of Western Electric, Westinghouse and Connewey Laboratories is head of the company. Laboratories at North Bergen, N. J., have a daily output of 5000 tubes. Prices and territorial protection will be given to its authorised distributors and a large assortment of dealer help material is being prepared." George Perryman designed and patented his "Perryman Bridge" - two ceramic spacers to stabilise the element structure and prevent damage to it. This was in 1925 and a special "demonstrating" tube was made to show how the bridges worked. Ten tubes listed in the "Radio" advertisement of November 1929 are listed as incorporating the bridge. Patent no 1589483 was granted on the device.

In Radio Broadcast, July 1929, it is reported that Perryman has projected a new plant, costing $300,000, and having a capacity of 50,000 radio and electric tubes, doubling the company's output. Unfulfilled orders amounted to 2,000,000 tubes as of May 13, 1929. By September 1, daily production is expected to be at the rate of 25,000 tubes per day.
