Hallo crystalophiles,

On the Internet I have found several crystal radios, built in an cigar-box, and decided to make one myself. First (after emptying the box!), I made a high-Q basket-coil for the tank-circuit. The antenna-circuit have adjustible coupling with it, so I can choose between the sensitivity and the selectivity. Antenna coupling changes automatically, using the second section of the first two-gang cap. The best chosen germanium-diode goes from the top of the coil, to get the highest possible RF voltage. Load to the tank-circuit is minimized by using an self-made impedance-maching transformer, with taps for different phone - impedances. It works good, especially with my extra-sensitive balanced-armature phones (Google will find it under "HIBAPHONE").

So, I would like to share my experience with you.

Regards,

Dejan
