Datasheet RCA 445 power transistor
Datasheet RCA 445 power transistor

Please could anybody provide me a detailed datasheet of following Power transistors:
they are labelled RCA445 (NPN) and RCA431 (PNP).
Both come in a TO-220 housing, with manufacture date printed on 1984.
Unfruitfull researches through numerous sources at no avail yet,
I've already Googled the WWW, and several databooks without luck.
Thanks,
Kind regards,
Dirk

Dear Dirk,
I have a few details on the 431 but not on the 445.
However the RCA431 listed in the RCA manual as a TO3 NPN not a TO220 PNP, so there may be a problem! Have you perhaps the equipment circuit to validate?
714mW/deg C. P 125W at Vc <75V and case <25 deg C.
Ic < 7A, continuous, 10A peak. Ib < 2A, V ce <400,
hfe at 2A, 15 to 35, fae 4MHz.
Not sure if this helps or hinders!
Best regards,
Roy

Dear Roy,
thank you for your response yet, sorry for my late reply, been busy overhere,
unfortunally I've made a mistake by enquiring for a RCA431, since it is actually
a #436. Maybe you could look-up your archives once more for this PNP-TO220?
Also, did you not find anything on the RCA445 one?
It seems both types are very rare, because nobody till now could help me with this?
So I'm still hoping someone could provide me with some PDF.datasheet of these :-)
Anyway, thanks in advance for the effort,
best regards,

Dear Dirk,
I have had another hunt through the archives without success. The series stops at 431 with nothing until the 500s. (Reference 1974/75 RCA and 1984 International Transistor Index.)
It is possible that these were special production as I noticed that the RCA three figure type numbers closely matched other manufacturers' references. For example Silec SST431=RCA431, but cannot find a Silec SST436 or anything lke it! So that line of thought ended in the buffers.
Perhaps ask RCA? They must have records.
Happy hunting and best regards,
Roy
