Hello,
There are couple of Horny 237 listed in the RMorg DB. Could somebody advice what means addentum "AS" at the type name. I saw this kind of model in Finland. Most of the tubes belong to E_11 series (Tfk, Philips). No picture available at the moment.
regards
Ake

Hello Åke!
Hello Åke!
According to the listings of the Hornyphone radios in RMorg you’ll find a model named: Rex 47W W556A/S which is the only model with A/S appendix. If you look at the “Notes” you can see that it refer to “nordisch” i.e. Sweden. May be this will solve the mystery.

HI Lars-G,
Thanks for your support. I also have a memory that read once "A" means production "abroad". This model is not mine but if I have chance to see it again I'll take some photos too.
By the way, I have been wondering why we have quite many of (certain era)Hornyphone radios in Finland. Did somebody assemby or manufacture those here or in our neighbor countries (Sweden, Estonia)??

Hi again Ake!
It’s hard to say whether the Hornyphons was made in Finland but I doubt it. The Philips Company was strongly involved in the "Horny" manufacturing and it’s likely they used their own type numbering and suffixes also on these sets.

Lars-G.
