The owner of TELAVOX was Clemen Jørgensen, born 1893, death 1992, he was a watch maker and began in 1924 to build loudspeakers in a backyard in his sparetime. He stopped in 1925 som watch maker and established a carpenter factory together with his brother. TELAVOX got famous for his very beautiful cabinets, they built e.g. the popehat from Philips. The name TELAVOX is greek/latin and means ’the far away voice’. TELAVOX produced all their components, 1927 have they had 30 employees and in 1943 already 250. The fabric got sold on the 1st of April 1952 to To-r and the brothers Karl Åge continued building radio cabinets for Neutrofon and LL.
