An interesting aspect of the radio's battery voltage is that, according to the label on the battery holder, it can be used from either 2×4.5 V or 4×1.5 V. In the case of four "C" cells, there was probably an insert piece for the device, with which it can be connected to the current contact lugs. Another detail worth mentioning is that none of the four French-related devices mentions the use of "C" cells in the online literature. In the case of Pop 200, this is clear, as there is an inscription about it. Unfortunately, there is not a single available photo of the battery holder for the French devices.

We have the French connection and similarity! In Aubade's photo, you can see the same inscriptions on the farm. See attache photo!

Dear, Sir,

to me it looks like this Radio is designed to operate with 2  4,5V Batteries.

I think, that the Plastic Battery Holder is made for many different Radios, and depending on their Operating Voltage ( 6 Volt or 9 Volt ) the correct Battery Contacts are inserted.

This way, there is only one Mould to be made for Production, and Grundig is known for saving Money where indicated.

Best Regards,

Henning Oelkers

Dear Sir!

The thoughts you have raised are very apt.
However, there are a couple of points that refute them:
- the device is actually French made with Grundig markings
- if you observe the photos of the French relatives in detail not only here on our site, but also on original French sites, you can discover the fact that the battery holder part shown here also includes an insert adapter. The latter accepts two types of batteries, such as 2×4.5 V or 4×1.5 V.
Thanks for your valuable suggestion.

BR,

STS

A redacted French source emerged as evidence. The fact that it is named as a product of two factories is already flawed, which excludes it from the beginning as an original source.Visseaux and Sonolor manufacturers.  The original source, however, is the factory battery holders
injection molded inscription!
