Can anyone help to identify this strangely-shaped Ediswan valve? The seller says that the markings are unclear but begin "DVS....." or maybe  DV5....". I can find no match in the Ediswan valve list. And obviously it is not a De Forest DV5 Audion. Currently on sale on Ebay item  as 111179623575.As you can see, it is also marked "BBC". Thank you.

Likely it's used in a UK Radio 1921 to 1925

So list all UK Radio models 1921 to 1926 on the Home Page search (About 281).

Look at ones with valves starting with "D". Always click on "more" on the Tube pages:

1) Earlier models have metal collars on base like a modern BC lamp, later models have Bakelite, for same tube.

2) Glass envelope style changes with date and maker for the same model valve/tube. Earlier versions may be more like a lamp / pear shaped. The pip from evacuation tube can be on the top (usually earlier) or evacuation tube at side of "pinch" or middle of pinch at the bottom hidden by base.

The shape, gettered all over, pip and collar all suggest earlier version. But the "initial" illustrated tube may be different due to different make or date.

Searching Tubes by year first used only finds "Dxxx" from 1923.

It says "Dull Emitter" which also means not too early.

V as second letter seems unlikely for Ediswan, DE would make more sense.
