The Bahnwärterhaus 167 - Ghega Museum is a few meters above the railway line next to the Kalte Rinne viaduct. Travelling by car to the Viaduct "Kalte Rinne". From there you walk about 300 meters along the railway trail on a gravel forest road uphill to the Ghega Museum. Attention:. Access by motor vehicle on the private road to the museum is not allowed From the station Semmering coming of railway trail leads directly to the Ghega Museum. |
| Description | webheimat.at: Direkt am berühmten Viadukt kalte Rinne gelegen, steht das Bahnwärterhaus 167 in Breitenstein am Semmering. 4 Jahre lang wurde es von Georg Zwickl, Obmann des Klub der Freunde Ghega`s, mit einer Handvoll Freiwilligen vom Keller bis zum Dach saniert. Am 01.09.2012 wurde das - 1. und einzige - CARL RITTER v. GHEGA-Museum eröffnet. Es liegt direkt am Bahnwanderweg, und zeigt das Leben und Schaffen des großen Genies, Ing. Ghega`s und seiner engsten Mitarbeiter. In nur 6 Jahren wurde die "gemauerte Bahn" über den Semmering gebaut. Die Semmeringbahn war die erste Bahnlinie der Welt, die den Status Weltkulturerbe erhielt. |
