The Historical Museum of the Military Fire Brigade of the State of Rio de Janeiro preserves and divulges the memory of the corporation created by the Emperor D. Pedro II, in 1856.

Four thematic exhibitions narrate the trajectory of the institution:

- Fire Department of the Imperial Court (1856-1889)

- Fire Department of the Federal District (1889-1960)

- Fire Brigade of the State of Guanabara (1960-1975) and of the State of Rio de Janeiro

- Symphonic Band of the Military Fire Brigade of the State of Rio de Janeiro

Part of the memory of the corporation is presented in a large exhibition module, which features firefighters' caps and helmets from various parts of the world, as well as historical vehicles, both those used by firefighters in their trade - from animal traction to modern motor vehicles - And the carriages, both made by the institution's workshop.

O Museu Histórico do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro preserva e divulga a memória da corporação criada pelo Imperador D. Pedro II, em 1856.

Quatro exposições temáticas narram a trajetória da instituição:

- Corpo de Bombeiros da Corte Imperial (1856-1889)

- Corpo de Bombeiros do Distrito Federal (1889-1960)

- Corpo de Bombeiros do Estado da Guanabara (1960-1975) e do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

- Banda Sinfônica do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

Parte da memória da corporação é apresentada em um grande módulo expositivo, no qual estão expostos quepes e capacetes de bombeiros de várias partes do mundo, além das viaturas históricas, tanto as usadas pelos bombeiros em seu ofício - da tração animal aos modernos veículos motorizados - quanto as carruagens, ambas confeccionadas pela oficina da instituição.
