| Description | Seit anderthalb Jahrhunderten überspannt die Brücke - zunächst mit drehbarem Mittelteil, dann seit 1895 als Hubbrücke - die Elbe. Um den Schiffsverkehr auch bei Hochwasser zu gewährleisten, kann das 90 Meter lange Hubjoch durch Elektromotoren innerhalb von 5 Minuten etwa 3 Meter angehoben werden. Die Hubbrücke ist Magdeburgs erste Eisenbahnbrücke gewesen und zählt zu den ältesten und größten Hubbrücken. |
