Description

Wikipedia:
The Musée Automobile de Vendée is a museum located on the route des Sables-d'Olonne in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire. It presents a collection started in 1939 by Gaston Giron.

History

The Musée automobile de Vendée was born out of a family's passion for mechanics and automobiles. The collection of vehicles (cars, cycles, motorbikes and horse-drawn vehicles) was started in 1939 and has made it possible to safeguard more than 200 vehicles from the years 1885 to the prototypes of the future.

Features

160 vehicles from the collection are displayed in a 3,300 m2 hall, entirely decorated with an exceptional collection of posters and advertising boards from the period.

The museum also presents a reconstruction of Gaston Giron's first workshop (1929) in Saint-Pierre-du-Chemin.
