Description

Museum of the Clock Making of Pesarina

The original collection of Pesariis, which is of public ownership, includes a great variety of clocks, some kindly donated to the exhibition by private individuals.

The visitors will be able to understand and reconstruct part of the history of the instruments used for the measuring of time; the great gears destined for the civic and bell towers, built between the end of the seventeenth and the beginnings of the nineteenth centuries; the wall clocks with finely decorated arms; complex mechanisms for railway stations; clocks with mechanical arms; digital clocks; and furthermore, the more modern and sophisticated electronic systems for clocking in at work.

Also included are the famous clocks with mechanical arms, patented by Solari and known across the whole world, and also some examples of electronic clocks. Finally, presented here are various models made by local artisans who keep alive the tradition of the Pesarina Valley.
