Description Following its establishment on December 7, 1935, to carry out the worlds first commercial production of ferrite, a magnetic material invented in Japan,

Under the main theme of "What has TDK created?" exhibitions in the Symbol Zone at the entrance include the TDK Gallery, which displays the company's products; A TDK Pre-history and Presidents, which introduces the company's founder and presidents, History of the TDK Brand; and the Highlight Corner, which features TDK products by category (ferrite, ceramics, applications components, HDD heads, recording media, etc.). The Event Hall shows visitors videos on TDK.

Ferrite

Here, the history of ferrite applications for commercial use and telecommunications infrastructures, including ferrite cores, magnet products, and radio wave absorbent materials, is given.

Seven main usages of Ferrite cores
Ferrite: Indispensable for the development of audio-visual equipment
TDK ferrite cores work behind the scenes to support communications
TDK magnets support the "movement" of modern electronics devices
TDK ferrite products, utilized in ways that you might not realize
Anechoic test chamber

Ceramics

TDK expanded into the ceramics business by making the most of its know-how in ferrite manufacturing. The chronology of this endeavor as well as TDK products indicative of the time are displayed here.

The history of TDK ceramics
What are ceramic capacitors?
The "family tree" of ceramic products and technologies
The worldwide scope of TDK's ceramic products
Components that alter the products themselves

Applications Components

TDK met a variety of needs with its applications components based on its materials technology and production technology. The history and production processes of six product categories are explained in this area.

Applications components, the starting point of product creation The history of applications components
A chronological overview of applications components and epoch-making product examples are shown here.
TDK's craftsmanship in the making of applications components
Inductors: Miniaturization made possible by ferrite
Products designed for better Electromagnetic Compatibility with electrical signals
Composite components and modules, Integration of multiple functions:
History of composite components, a typical example of which is the LC filter, a combination of an inductor and capacitor.
Transformers, the starting point of applications components
Power systems: The "engine" driving electrical devices
Sensors & Actuators: The "five senses" and "limbs" of electrical device

Recording Media

Recording media, for which TDK credits its brand image, is one of the company's staple products. Displays in this corner include epoch-making cassette tapes and the history of TDK's business, technologies, and products.

TDK's Compact Cassettes transformed music culture
History of recording media business
TDK's technical breakthroughs in recording media
History of recording media products

Heads Corner

Hard-disk drives are indispensable in our daily lives. It can be said that the evolution of hard-disk drives is the evolution of magnetic-head technology. The history and progress of this essential technology are shown here.

HDD magnetic heads are the focus of this business.
Striving for one breakthrough after another
The history of hard-disk drives is the history of magnetic heads.
Transmitters of the genomes of challenge

Manufacturing Technologies

Progress in manufacturing technologies is explained as the origin of TDK' product creation.
