Experience how the technology came into human service. Inventions such as the steam engine, the electric and the combustion engine changed life. The technology became part of everyday life in the form of electric light, indoor toilet and washing machine. The kitchen was equipped with running water, fridge and freezer. In agriculture, "Brunte" came to be replaced by "Grållen". All this happened just a few decades ago. Small things of great importance to the individual when it happened, the everyday that today belongs to the forgotten.

 We at the ArveMuseum want to show how the human home and work changed with the help of, among other things, the electric motor, the tractor and the milk machine. We want the whole family to have an unforgettable experience where old and young can see how we worked and lived.

Enrich your senses, feel the smell of sawdust and oil, see life in the rear-view mirror, hear the sound of the steam whisper and if you are really lucky maybe Munktellar´n goes. The ArveMuseum reflects developments during the most expansive time in human history, from self-catering to today's high-tech consumption society. Technology and ways of living changed at a modest pace for millennia. Knowledge was passed on from generation to generation. Then, in the 1700s, 1800s and 1900s, inventions came that even changed all the conditions. We show how to work and live, how technological progress changed society and made life easier and more comfortable.

The museum is part of an association's visitor facility, with one of Sweden's oldest and most beautiful steamers in traffic, S/S Östersund.

Upplev hur tekniken kom i människans tjänst. Uppfinningar som ångmaskinen, el- och Förbränningsmotorn förändrade livet. Tekniken blev en del av vardagen i form av elljus, inomhustoalett och tvättmaskin. Köket utrustades med rinnande vatten, kyl och frys. I jordbruket kom ”Brunte” att ersättas av ”Grållen”. Allt detta hände för bara några decennier sedan. Små saker med stor betydelse för den enskilda människan när det inträffade, det vardagliga som idag tillhör det bortglömda.

Vi på ArveMuseet vill visa hur människans hem och arbete förändrades med hjälp av bland annat elmotorn, traktorn och mjölkmaskinen. Vi vill att hela familjen skall få en oförglömlig upplevelse där gammal som ung kan få se hur vi arbetat och levt.

Berika dina sinnen, känn lukten av sågspån och olja, se livet i backspegeln, hör ljudet av ångvisslan och har Du riktigt tur kanske Munktellar´n går. ArveMuseet speglar utvecklingen under den mest expansiva tiden i mänsklighetens historia, från självhushåll till dagens högteknologiska konsumtionssamhälle. Teknologi och sätt att leva förändrades i blygsam takt under årtusenden. Kunskaper fördes vidare från släktled till släktled. Så kom under 1700-, 1800- och 1900-talet uppfinningar som med ens ändrade alla förutsättningar. Vi visar hur man arbetat och levt, hur tekniska framsteg förändrade samhället och gjorde livet lättare och bekvämare.

Museet är en del av en Föreningens besöksanläggning, med ett av Sveriges äldsta och vackraste ångfartyg i trafik, S/S Östersund.
