Inland Railway Museum

Inland Railway is a 1289 km long tourist attraction, a living heritage which every summer offers you a trip from Kristinehamn in the south to Gällivare in the north. From the train window succeed beautiful nature scenes together and you can choose to stay to participate in various activities, making trips to different sights, enjoy the northern delights.
The station building by the railroad in Sorsele houses also a museum of Inlandsbanan. It tells the story of the 1289 km railway, but also the history of people's dreams - and disappointments.

Inlandsbanemuseet är ett arbetslivsmuseum som är inrymt i det gamla godsmagasinet i Sorseles stationshus.

Utställningen handlar om inlandsbanans historia och om att tog hela 30 år innan inlandsbanan blev helt färdig efter att den började på byggas 1907. Hur gick det egentligen till när den 1289 kilometer långa banan byggdes? Här kan du lära sig mer om hur det gick till när inlandsbanan byggdes, planerna om att utveckla Norrland, människorna som arbetade vid inlandsbanan och vad som fraktades efter banan. Vidare kan du läsa om de hotande nedläggningarna av tågtrafiken och protesterna mot det.

Passa på att slå dig ned i museet med en kopp kaffe i en miljö som andas hundraåriga minnen.
