• Die Bezeichnung "Radioprüfer" liefert den Hinweis auf die Funktion des Gerätes. Hierzu wird die zu prüfende Röhre aus dem Radiogerät entfernt und in das Prüfgerät gesteckt. Der Adapter des Prüfgerätes wird dann in die Röhrenfassung des Radiogerätes gesteckt. Die Spannungsversorgung erfolgt dann aus dem Radiogerät. Heute nennt man dieses Verfahren "incircuit emulation".
