General Coverage Communications Receiver Collins 51S-1B: covering 0,2 - 30 MHz, AM / CW/SSB; double-conversion above 7 MHz, triple conv. below 7 MHz. Notch-filter, 2 mechanical IF filters.
Variant of the 51S-1 with rear mounted junction box with military type connectors for power, IF out, audio, muting (J101) and antenna (J102); impedance of remote audio line 150 Ohms.
In the Collins Manual is a reference found: "The junction box provides military-type connectors for power, control, audio and antenna". But since an Army / Air Force designation for this receiver was not yet found it remains unclear whether, where and when the 51S-1B has been in military use.The 51S-1B came equipped with 115 VAC power cable, but could be operated from 230 VAC with special cable.
