  • Annotazioni
  • Radio Collector's Guide names this Crosley Detector Unit "Audion Det", with a price of $ 7. This is the early version with overhanging lid which was offered in the first Crosley catalog from early 1922 for $ 7.50 or $ 6 unassembled. It has no tuning coil. In the catalog is most probably an error when listing the following parts besides cabinet (finished in mahogany) and undrilled panel: model "A" rheostat, porcelain socket, variable condenser, grid leak. For the complete assembled unit the text reads correctly "grid condenser".

It was also used in the combination with the "Two Step Amplifier". The new version without overganging lid can be seen in "Radio News" September 1922 "Crosley Audion Detector Unit" (shows a picture) with "... works with practically any type of tuner, and consists of socket, rheostat, grid leak and condenser, completely wired and mounted on formica panel, assembled in Adam brown mahogany finish cabinet, of a size to match up with the Crosley Crystal Receiver No. 1 - without tube, batteries or phones $ 7.50.
