Notes Tapedeck using 1/4" tape on 4" spools in a transparent cassette. Not really successful because the record industry was not able to arrange pre-recorded cassettes, so it was mostly sold for instrumentation data recording purpose. This system "flopped" on the market when Philips introduced their "MC" compact cassette in 1963.
