  • Bemerkung
  • The Weston Model 666 Socket Selector Unit is used for facilitating readings of current, voltage, and resistance in a vacuum tube circuit.  It may be used with any of the Weston analyzers or volt-ohmeters, or other multi-range volt-ohm-milliammeters. The plug at the end of the cable (with its associated adapter) is inserted into the receiver tube socket, and the tube plugged into the socket selector block.  This brings out through the cable all currents and voltages to a point where they may be measured by any volt-ohm-milliammeter.  Each pin on the selector unit block has two positions - one for current (breaks into circuit), and one for voltage.  This can be seen on Figure 7 in the schematics.

This unit is particularly designed for mechanical connection to Weston analyzers and meters by the two pins on the bottom of the socket selector block.  These pins fit into the high amp terminals on the meter and do not make any electrical connection.  A photo is provided that shows the unit mounted on a Weston 772 analyzer.

This meter is one component of military Test Set I-56-A manufactured by Weston Electrical Instrument Corporaton.

There is a later Type 1C of this unit that has an aditional cable to handle more tube types.
