Frühe Fernsehgeräte der schwarz/weiss- und Farbära, Rundfunkgeräte, kommerzielle Geräte, Messtechnik. Besonderes Interessengebiet ist die UKW-Technik der ersten Jahre und der Beginn der HF-Stereophonie. Ein kleiner Literaturfundus, ergänzt von Periodika wie Funktechnik (FT) 1947-1986, Funkschau (FS) 1949-1985, VDRG-Kataloge 1950-1974, runden die Sammlung ab.

Von 1980 bis 1. Juli 2019 arbeitete ich beim Zweiten Deutschen Fernsehen (ZDF, erst Wiesbaden, ab 1984 Mainz) im Bereich der (Ton-) Meßtechnik. Daher ist die Tonstudiotechnik als Randgebiet ebenfalls in der Sammlung enthalten. Anfang der 80er Jahre wurde in Wiesbaden noch Röhrentechnik eingesetzt ...

Zum Radio kam ich wohl schon im Kindesalter, meine erste Erinnerung an ein Rundfunkgerät ist eine Ur-Philetta (Kommissbrot), die stand in der Garage meiner Großmutter und spielte dort öfters. Der Blick durch die Rückwand, die glühenden Röhren, der staubig-warme Geruch - das mögen wohl "folgenschwere" Einflüsse für meine spätere Liebe zum Radio gewesen sein. Das erste Radio meines Elternhauses, an das ich mich erinnere, war ein Saba Konstanz W. Den gibt es nicht mehr, als ich 13 Jahre alt war wurde er zunächst verbastelt und dann total zerlegt. Erst viel später habe ich auf dem Flohmarkt wieder einen Konstanz erworben... Grundkenntnisse bekam ich wie damals üblich durch "Radiomann" und Co. und natürlich das Basteln mit Sperrmüll-Geräten.
