I recently repaired and cleaned up a 6-tube radio ( 35Z5, 35L6, 12SK7, 12SK7, 12SQ7, 12SA7) with the only identification on the tuning dial: Emerald.

It looks similar to some late 1930's Emersons, but has no other identifiers on the case or chasis. Any ideas about manufacturer or age? See attached images. Thanks!

Steve

Hi Steve.

I found on the Internet that Emerald Radios were manufectured by Climax Radios (USA). In Radiomuseum have data about this company and in the site Nostalgia Air there are many schemes of Climax. This is my contribution. Daltro D'Arisbo

Thanks, Daltro... That's a great place to start, but I can't find my specific radio. The "Emerald" model listed as made by Climax is an art deco wood radio... mine is much more humble. At least I now know the manufacturer!
