The Radameta Signal Generator covers 6 bands in a main and harmonic format using 3 positions on the frequency band selector. The oscillator is a single 6J5 which provides for self rectification of the AC mains supply via a transformer. Modulation of 50Hz is without question as it is part of the self rectification process. The unit measures 230mm wide by 150mm high and 110mm deep. There appears to be no serial number either on the case or the chassis which is part of the front panel. In my unit which I have restored, the output level control, the power switch and one capacitor were faulty. These were replaced with the nearest available comonents and the result is not visible with the case closed. The output is a little "dirty" due to the self rectification process and some frequency counters will have trouble registering the actual frequency which can be verified through the use of an oscilloscope. Pricing suggests more than several weeks wages at the time of the publication of an advertisement in the 1948 issue of "Radio and Hobbies".
