  • 292 x 190 x 98 mm / 11.5 x 7.5 x 3.9 inch
  • Notes
  • Coverage: 500 kHz - 30 MHz in 31 ranges, AM/CW/SSB. Triple conversion, drift eleminating loop circuit, developed by former RACAL employee Dr. Trevor Wadley (first used in RACAL RA-17). Only two IF-filters. See also Barlow-Wadley XCR-30 FM Mark II.
Models up to June 1974 have total 18 transistors, the transistorized audio amplifier has been replaced with an IC TAA611 afterwards.
Each semiconductor type listed once only.
Some examples prior to June 1974 fitted with different RF transistors:
    - BF125 in 4-pin epoxy pill-package
    - BF198 & BF199 in 3-pin metal TO72 cans, made by STC.
It may be that the supply of semiconductors during this period was problematic due to the sanctions in place on South Africa.
