    No later than 1964!
Spotted as a prop in Gerry Anderson's Ep. 8: "An Echo of Danger" first aired 22 November 1964 in the "Stingray" puppet series. Close up shots in all the "Super Marionation" shows often used real people operating real equipment. Reported by "eagle eyed" Guest Paul Johnson, Lowestoft,UK.

The Benkson 68 HR-408A differs only in knob colour (grey rather than beige) and matches perfectly the colours on the Thunderbirds Space station recording deck.

The Acme Model 1500 appears to be another brand using the same chassis (black knob).

Of course all Brands may have been sold in different Colour-ways and the Model in Stingray may have been a Benkson rather than Homey, but in any case they are obviously made by the same Manufacturer and rebranded for retail chain stores or different countries
