• The Wurlitzer 780 "Wagon Wheel" is the only one in a wooden cabinet, which looks like a piece of furniture. It was quite a departure from theother slick, brightly lighted jukeboxes of the same year. The Early American design with a cabinet looking like maple furniture, a colonial quilt grill and hope chest hardware.
  The circuitry has a particular feature: Quick start. In standby the tubes are not heated. After a coin is inserted and a selector button pressed the tubes are supplied with 9.8 volt. A relay time delay will swich to normal supply (6.3 volts) after ca.7 seconds. That makes the Amplifier ready before the pickup is set to the groove, since the mechanics needs some seconds to fetch, move and place the record.
  
  Das einzige "Möbelstück" unter den gleichzeitigen Modellen.Schnellstarteinrichtung:
  Die Röhren bleiben im Standby ungeheizt. Nach erfolgtem Münzeinwurf und Drücken einer Wahltaste werden 9,8 V an die Röhrenheizung gelegt. Eine Zeitschaltung setzt nach ca.7 sek. über ein Relais die Heizung auf normal (6,3 V) zurück. Wenn die Mechanik fertig ist mit Entnahme, Transport und Auflegen der Schallplatte und der Tonarm aufgesetzt wird, ist der Verstärker bereits voll betriebsfähig.
