  • Annotazioni
  • The Crosley 146 from circa 1932 is a 9-tube superhet with a tuned RF amplifier and two IF amplifier stages. It receives only the broadcast/Medium Wave band - the figures are 55 - 150 on the dial scale. However there are two additional unmarked major divisions (to 1700?) and additional minor tick marks following. This suggests possible extended MW coverage into the Police Band. The chassis is very complex and features a sophisticated AVC system with sensitivity control, push-pull class B output stage, a tuning meter, choke input filter power supply with mercury vapor rectifier, and both 2.5 and 6.3 volt filament tubes. The factory label identifies the chassis as 146-1, which was used in console models having two speakers. But the circuit of this radio matches chassis 146 instead based on the Riders Manual schematic and parts used (only one filter choke, and a 4-wire speaker cable). The 146 chassis was used for single speaker models. The chassis is also factory ink stamped "SENATOR", which is identified as a console in RM. This could be a similar case like the 146  "Announcer" where we assume a later change of chassis.

Note that there is no mention of this specific model in the Crosley documentation.
