  • Bemerkung
  • This transistorized unit, features a frequency meter, a counter and a timer all in one.

The display consists of 6 red filtered tubes type GN4. The counter & display unit (top) is detachable from the signal input & control unit (bottom).

It has 4 main groups of pushbuttons:
1- Function: Frequency, Time, Period, Count
    2- Display multiplier for Freq/Time/Period: x0.01Hz, x1Hz, x10Hz, x100Hz, x1kHz, x10kHz, x100kHz
    3- Input multiplier for Period/Count: x10, x100, x1000
    4- Events: Start, Stop, Reset

It has a single group of 2 switches:
    1- Normal vs Accumulate
    2- Auto vs Hold

One interesting note on the display unit, is that each nixie driver also has a transistor based decade counter, which also passes the signal to the next nixie board, so effectively the display unit is a 0 to 999999 counter having an additional control line to reset the count. As the unit is detachable, this make it feasible to use the display unit for other uses.

The unit also has a bias input, a test output, and inputs for remote events (start, stop and reset).

Inside the unit, everything is arranged in modular boards using bus-like connectors. Boards use all germanium transistors and the time reference is a huge glass encapsulated 100kHz quartz crystal.
