  • Anotaciones
  • The General Electric model Colorama E-129 is listed at Rider's GE 8-75 through 8-81 and has a Pentagrid Converter with a "Sentry Box" as one of the top models. It has a record changer with a piezo electric Pick-up. The E-129 features the Colorama tuning indicator (see post 5 etc.). A 6K7 commands depending on the AGC line the saturation of the "magnetic amplifier", a saturable core reactor. The reactor is in series with a row of 4 red stained pilot lamps and 3 green stained light bulbs behind the scale which turn the light to green when a carrior (station) is tuned in. Weak stations will produce a small color change and strong stations larger changes - a smooth process. This was a novelty in 1936 for GE sets - the Magic Eye was just on the market but GE wanted first to have it's own gadget which was a problem to service men and the cost was over twice that of the tuning eye. There are two additional "Personalizer Lights". There are two "Personalyzer lights".

The model E-129 has AFC (Automatic Frequency control) and silent tuning. The limiter control is a 6H6. The model can have a 25 cycle (C) or 60 cycle mains transformer which came in two versions, one fix for 105-120 volts (A), the other for 105 to 250 volts with 4 tappings (V). Band B (Broadcast) covers 535 - 1640 kc, the band C (Fishery, Police etc.) 1600 - 5600 kc, band D (SW) 5.5 - 18.2 mc and band E 17.5 - 70 mc (UHF).
