The National Type A Dial was one of the first radio products made by the National Company. It was originally produced for Browning-Drake, but quickly became a mainstay for National. Along with the National Type B Dial, it was generally known as the "Velvet Vernier" dial.
It has a planetary drive with a 4 to 1 ration, and was available in two sizes: 4-inch diameter and 3 3/8-inch diameter.
The 1945 National Catalog was the last appearance of the A Dial.
