  • Model: Stazione RF4 e RF4D - Allocchio Bacchini Radialba;
  • Shape
  • Portable set > 8 inch (also usable without mains)
  • Notes
  • Portable transceiver manufactured by Allocchio Bacchini, used for radio telephony or CW (telegraphic communication) over a range up to 120 km. Modular construction, in a wooden carrying chest, with receiver on the left, modulator and control panel in the middle and transmitter on the right.

    The RF4 superheterodyne receiver uses 7 tubes type 6R and covers the range from 220 to 4400 kHz in five overlapping bands. The transmitter uses one PC05/15 as oscillator and two more in the power amplifier stage, grid-modulated when operated in RT mode. Output power was in the order of 25 W over the range from 214 to 1580 kHz. Internal xtal calibrator.
    Depending upon the installation the supply was given by iron or lead storage battery packs, with or without AC charger or gasoline generator.

    The RF4 and RF4D models share the same control panel and receiver, the main difference is a different transmission frequency range where RF4D covers 1270 to 4300 kHz in 3 bands.
