  • Notes
  • The Lafayette catalog calls this model "J-14 MAJOR 5 tube T.R.F. A.C.-D.C. set incorporating two of the new metal-jacketed tubes." In fact there is 4 tubes plus the ballast tube 185R8. The size of the case is that of the model J-10 (according to the catalog). Wave length is 200 to 550 meters. "The large airplane dial is clearly calibrated and easy to read too."

The model Lafayette J-14 is listed at $ 18.90 but the Lafayette price is $ 9.45 including tubes. With addl. $ 1.00 there is a 220 volt adapter to have. See details for the models of this catalog or summaries. It seems that Pla-Pal Radio Company sells the same kind of radio, having the same chassis but an other cabinet - but we could not get hold of a schematic to be sure.
