Thanks for your friendly mail. I add some other images of the same series, but this time not raw and in enhanced jpeg-format. If you want, I can take a new set of pictures.
The “ Emeraude” model of the Scarabee Series by Eduard Binard is a fine example of the Egyptian Revival (Egyptomania) at the end of the Art Deco period. The Scarabee Emeraude or Emerald Scarab bug was considered a holy insect and very important in the cult of the ancient Egyptians. The designer of this model cleverly depicted the Scarab bug in the tuning screen with his golden wings fully erected and between its front paws the orb of the sun (in reality the front of one of the tube’s that lights up vivid green when hot) Normally, when you move the knob for tuning the different stations, you get a full green light circle when reception of the station is at its best; when the signal is not clear the circle is only partly filled.
