This model was suggested by Nikolaus Löwe.
R-Meter, both chicken head knobs, and switch above large tuning knob not original. Both replaced knobs were originally just like the ones seen on gain, antenna trimmer, etc. control. The front tag is not originally by E. H. Scott, but was put in place by the SAIT (Societé Anonyme Internationale de Télégrafie), the company which operated this receiver on shipboard.
Under the cover of the upper metal shielding cabinet, there´s the heavily shielded r.f. input stage. The r.f. amplifying tube is mounted horizontally protruding from the lower shielding cabinet, which contains the 2nd tuned r.f. and mixing circuits. The three i.f. cans are seen on the right. The little loud speaker in the lower right corner doesn´t origially belong there, but I left it for convenience.
This set had been heavily (and crudely) modified and was restored to original specs. All the carbon resitors have drifted; where necessary they were bypassed by new corrective resistors which may be removed again without a trace, when desired. The tube in the upper right operates as driver for the R meter, which is an addition. I left it for convenience. The head phone jack had been removed and replaced by a (superfluous) volume potentiometer, because the previous owner didn´t seem to understand the original gain control circuit. The 2nd detector and output limiter stages were completely messed up - now it´s all back to normal.
